Lauren D. Kerr of Massey Law Group Achieves Florida Bar Board Certification in Construction Law

Dedicated to achieving a heightened level of excellence through character, professionalism, ethics, and credibility in the practice of law

ST. PETERSBURG, FL, September 5, 2023 – Massey Law Group, P.A. (MLG), a law firm focusing on real property, business law, and commercial litigation, is pleased to announce that Lauren D. Kerr, MLG Attorney of Counsel, has achieved Florida Bar certification by the Board of Legal Specialization and Education (BLSE) in Construction Law.

Board certification is Florida’s official, independent determination of a lawyer’s expertise to practice in a specialty field of law. It is the gold standard for Florida lawyers. Established by the Florida Supreme Court, board certification is conferred upon lawyers by the most credible and highest authority over the state’s legal community, the Florida Bar. As of December 2020, 7% of eligible Florida Bar members, fewer than 5,200 lawyers, have earned board certification in one or more of the 27 specialty areas. In the State of Florida, only 457 attorneys are board certified in construction law.

About Lauren D. Kerr

Kerr is an experienced litigator with a focus on construction law. With two jury trials and extensive arbitration experience, she brings valuable insight into the litigation process in all phases, from pre-suit claims to alternative dispute resolution. Kerr understands the nuances of the construction industry and is committed to her clients achieving their goals. Kerr is skilled in guiding her clients through the challenges and complexities of litigation, often resolving cases before they reach the courtroom.

Kerr graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2015. She is admitted to practice in Florida and Ohio, before the United States Supreme Court, U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. She has been a member of the Pinellas County Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers since 2017, serving on the board of directors for three years.

Why Retain a Board-Certified Lawyer?

Expertise

Certification requires lawyers to pass a comprehensive examination that evaluates a high level of knowledge, skills, and expertise in a specialty field.

Credibility

Established by the Florida Supreme Court, board certification is conferred upon lawyers by the most credible and highest authority over the state’s legal community, The Florida Bar.
