Melissa graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1998. She earned her Juris Doctor and from Stetson University College of Law in 2001. Melissa is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts.
Melissa exclusively practiced law in Florida for 12 years before relocating to California, where she currently holds a position at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine as the director of the Clinical Trials Office. There, she oversees regulatory, administrative, and legal staff to support physicians, who offer cutting-edge therapies through clinical trials to a diverse patient population in East Los Angeles.
Melissa has a passion for doing what is right and helping those in need. As a native Floridian, she is interested in preserving the health and integrity of wildlife and citizens within the ecosystems in bodies of water surrounding SW Florida and has shifted the focus of her practice to address such environmental concerns.
